Automatic Filter Screen Cleaning Pump System for Water Treatment Applications

Wuxi Petrel developed a dedicated 3ZX90 high-pressure plunger pump system for automatic filter screen cleaning applications in water treatment plants.

During continuous filtration processes, filter screens gradually accumulate impurities and require regular cleaning to maintain filtration efficiency. Traditional cleaning systems often rely on imported pumps with higher equipment and maintenance costs. To provide a more efficient and economical solution, Wuxi Petrel integrated an air-operated three-way valve control system into the 3ZX90 pump unit.

The pneumatic three-way valve enables automatic switching between cleaning and standby modes according to the position of the filter screen. When a filter screen section reaches the cleaning position, the control system activates the three-way valve, quickly opening the high-pressure cleaning circuit and delivering pressurized water to remove accumulated contaminants from the screen surface. When no filter screen requires cleaning, the valve automatically closes the cleaning circuit, allowing the high-pressure pump to operate under low-pressure circulation conditions, reducing energy consumption and unnecessary system loading.

This design improves cleaning efficiency while extending pump operating life by reducing continuous high-pressure operation during standby periods.

The 3ZX90 filter screen cleaning pump system provides a reliable alternative to imported Abel pumps, offering comparable performance with advantages in equipment investment, spare parts availability, and local technical support. The solution can be widely applied in water treatment plants and filtration systems requiring continuous automatic cleaning.
