1. Automatic control function: The fire pump should have an automatic control function so that it can be started quickly in case of fire. This is usually achieved by linking with the automatic fire alarm system. Once a fire signal is detected, the fire pump will start automatically.
2. Mechanical emergency pump start: According to 11.0.12 of the Technical Specifications for Fire Water Supply and Fire Hydrant Systems, the fire pump control cabinet should be equipped with a mechanical emergency pump start function, and it should be ensured that when the control line in the control cabinet fails, the fire pump will be started by personnel with management authority in an emergency. During mechanical emergency start, the fire pump should be ensured to work normally within 5.0 minutes of the alarm.
3. Quick response time: When the end water discharge test is performed at the most unfavorable point of the wet automatic sprinkler fire extinguishing system, the time from the start of water discharge to the start of the water pump should not exceed 5 minutes.
4. Dual power supply switching: The dual power supply switching of the fire pump should comply with regulations, and the automatic switching time of the dual power supply should not be greater than 2 seconds to ensure that it can quickly switch to the backup power supply when the power supply is interrupted.
5. Regular inspection and maintenance: Regularly check the electrical system, mechanical system and control system of the fire pump to ensure that there is no short circuit, poor contact, leakage, wear or looseness, and repair or replace damaged parts in time.
6. Cleaning and maintenance: Regularly clean the external surface, filter screen and filter, as well as the cooling system of the fire pump to keep the appearance of the pump neat and tidy and the water source clean and unobstructed.
7. Lubrication maintenance: Regularly lubricate the bearings, gears, etc. of the fire pump, use appropriate lubricating oil to ensure the normal operation of the pump.
8. Automatic switching of main and standby pumps: Check whether the main and standby power supplies are switched normally, and ensure that the standby power supply can put the water pump into normal operation within 30 seconds; at the same time, check whether the standby water pump can be automatically switched and put into operation.
9. Operation and control: The system should have three control modes: automatic control, manual control and emergency mechanical start-up to ensure that the fire pump can be started quickly under different circumstances.
